    Training Advisers

Jenny BarkerLTM since 2012. Responsible for the training of Winchester's Leaders and Section Assistants. Jenny's Scouting started in 1986 when her three sons were Scouts and her husband was Group Chair. She formed the 9th's (Colden Common) Beaver Colony and in 1996 became their Group Scout Leader. In 2007 she stepped back to become a Training Adviser to help new leaders. She was also Manager of the District Active Support Unit and remains a Member. Jenny is married to Mike, a County Vice President who edits the District Directory; is a grandparent for seven; and a member of the Methodist Church.

Terenia JamesTraining Adviser since 2009 and Appointments Committee Member since 2011. Terenia started Scouting in 2004 as a parent and Assistant Scout Leader at the 5th Winchester. Having been a Brownie, a Girl Guide with Polish Guiding (the "Wawel" in Derby) and then a Grand Prior Badge achiever with the St John Ambulance Brigade this was an easy transition. Her Scout Troop has been Antler Shield runners up in 2005 and 2006 and winners in 2007 and 0000. She is a keen skier and enjoys hiking and mountaineering. When not Scouting or in her garden, Terenia is a respiratory specialist Physiotherapist.

Image unavailableTraining Adviser since 2012. Janet started Scouts as a parent and as Group Secretary for the 9th's Group Executive Committee in the late 1970s. Her sons were Scouts and Venture Scouts and her daughter was a Brownie. She first became a section assistant and then a Cub Leader from 1991-1998. After a break in China Janet was an Assistant Cub Scout Leader 2000-2008. Since then she has been the Akela; and an Occasional Helper at Scout camps in the Brecons. Janet now has Young Leaders helping her who were her Cubs. She volunteered as a Training Adviser to help new leaders acquire their Wood Beads as quickly as they feel is comfortable.

Jenny RobinsonTraining Adviser since 2013. Jenny was a Brownie and Guide. She completed her Duke of Edinburgh's Award and attended Operation Raleigh in Japan in the late 80s. Her eldest son joined Cubs at the 11th Winchester in 2008. To help alongside other parents, Jenny became an Assistant Leader and then the Cub Leader, expanding into two Cub Packs. Having had a great experience as a Scout leader Jenny has become a Training Adviser to pass on her knowledge and experience. She has had a major part in helping the leaders at the newly formed 6th Winchester Beavers get up and running.
